Chivuli Riva Ukwimi is the marginalised populations coordinator. Over his career, he has been active in various human rights and HIV portfolios: first as Zambia’s first Men who have sex with Men (MSM) study coordinator with PSI Zambia, and then manager of the first MC/VCT integrated site in the world and national outreach programmes under the Male circumcision partnership in Zambia. In April 2011, he took up his position as the marginalised populations coordinator in the HIV unit. Away from work, Chivuli devotes his time to championing LGBTI rights both in his country of origin (Zambia) and across the continent. He has been instrumental in building the Zambian LGBTI movement. A graduate of the University of Zambia with a degree in Biological Sciences, he additionally holds a diploma in LGBT human rights and a certificate in psychosocial and HIV counselling.
