Since its establishment in 1996, the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Malawi has implemented a number of projects, with funding from local and international partners, focusing on various fields, including elections, law review, economics, health and environment.
The flagship programme for MISA Malawi has been media freedom monitoring, which culminates in annual state-of-the-media reports. Through its activities, MISA Malawi has acquired an enormous amount of organisational capacity, in both financial and project management, over the past ten years.
