The Southern Africa Litigation Centre (SALC) was launched in 2005 and represents a joint initiative between the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa (OSISA).
Based in Johannesburg, SALC promotes human rights and the rule of law primarily through litigation support and training. SALC operates in ten southern African countries; namely, Angola, Botswana, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
