Directions to the OSISA Johannesburg office
A) Directions from Johannesburg International Airport
Take the R24 in a south-westerly direction, following Johannesburg signs, and crossing the eastern bypass (N3 Germiston/ Durban to Pretoria/ Pietersburg).
Continue along the R24 past Eastgate Shopping Centre (where it ceases to be a freeway).
Soon after Eastgate, turn right (North) into Queen Street, and then first traffic light left (West) into Marcia Street. Follow the road along the northern edge of Bezuidenhout Park (keeping to the left), and crossing 5th Street/ The Curve, at which point the road becomes Bezuidenout Avenue.
Continue in a westerly direction along Bezuidenhout
Avenue, which changes its name to Gordon Road as you approach
Johannesburg Stadium and Ellis Park.
At the end of Gordon Road, turn right into Bertrams Road, and follow the road (which becomes Charlton Terrace, and then Saratoga Avenue) as it curves West under Joe Slovo Drive (formerly Harrow Road) and along the northern edge of Technikon Witwatersrand.
As you pass the Roman Catholic Cathedral (on your right) and the Greek Orthodox Church (on your left), Saratoga Avenue becomes Wolmarans Street. Continue along Wolmarans Street in a westerly direction, past Joubert Park and Johannesburg (Park) Station on your left (South).
Immediately after the railway station, turn right (North) into Rissik Street, heading uphill towards the Civic Centre and the Constitutional Court. Take the first traffic light left (West) into De Korte Street. Then take the fifth traffic light right (North) into Bertha Street. Braamfontein Centre will now be visible ahead and to the right, on the northeast corner of Bertha and Jorissen Streets.
Public parking is accessed from Stiemans Street (one way East), which is immediately north of Jorisson.
B) Directions from Pretoria/ Midrand
Take the M1 South past Houghton Drive (Killarney) off-ramp, past St Andrews Road, and take the Empire Road off-ramp, just before the University of Witwatersrand.
Turn left (East) into Empire Road, then (at the first traffic light) right (South) into Jan Smuts Avenue. Continue over a slight hill, with the University of Witwatersrand on your right (West). At the next traffic light, Braamfontein Centre will be visible ahead and to your left, on the northeast corner of Bertha and Jorissen Streets. Public parking is accessed from Stiemans Street (one way East), which is immediately north of Jorisson.
If Jan Smuts Avenue becomes Bertha Street, then you have travelled too far South.
