Siphokazi Mthathi

A  human rights and feminist activist with extensive experience in the fields of   HIV/AIDS and Health, education, women's rights and gender, sexual and reproductive rights, advocacy, movement building and campaigning. 

She has worked in social  movements,  in  local  and  international  organizations  including  as  General Secretary of the Treatment Action Campaign (TAC), South Africa Director at Human Rights Watch (HRW) and Advocacy Advisor at the Coalition of  African Lesbians (CAL).

Sipho has a keen interest in international relations and is the current convener of the South Africa Forum for  International Solidarity (SAFIS) - a network of organizations and individuals engaged in solidarity action in support of  people's struggles for democracy, human rights and justice. Sipho also has a passion for the creative arts, is a poet and is busy completing her first novel.
